Jeffrey Myers, DO, Ed. M., NREMTP
Medical Director
Dr. Myers is an EMS physician with more than 20 years in EMS as a paramedic, EMS Educator, EMS Administrator and EMS Medical Director. Dr. Myers maintains National Registry and NY State EMT-Paramedic certificates and completed a Masters in Education in 2007. Dr. Myers serves as an Associate System Medical Director for several EMS agencies and coordinates EMS Education for the Emergency Medicine Residency and EMS Fellowship programs at the University of Buffalo. Sam Cloud, DO
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Cloud combined his training as an EMS physician with his passion for education and people to become one of the most respected EMS educators in Western New York. He is working to ensure that the WNY EMS community receives the best possible direction and education available. Dr. Cloud has published several articles in EMS books and journals and always strives to find and share the latest life saving techniques with his colleagues. |

Scott Wander, BS, EMT-P
Director
Scott is a graduate of Erie Community College’s Emergency Medical Technology-Paramedic Program and SUNY at Buffalo’s School of Management. Prior to joining the Office of Prehospital Care in 1998, Scott was a full-time paramedic for the Buffalo Division of Rural Metro Medical Services where he held the position of Paramedic Field Training Officer. In addition to his experience as a full-time paramedic, Scott actively volunteered for the Holland Fire Department and Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps, holding leadership positions in both organizations. In addition to significant EMS leadership experience, Scott has an extensive background in education and training, actively teaching CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP), and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS). Scott is also an associate instructor for the advanced EMT programs at Erie Community College’s South Campus and Regional Faculty for the American Heart Association’s ACLS and PALS programs. Chris Fenar, BA, EMT-P
Program Coordinator
Chris Fenar, EMT-Paramedic, serves as the Program Agency Coordinator for the Office of Prehospital Care. Chris graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelors Degree in History and minored in Political Science. Chris has full-time EMS experience with Rural Metro Medical Services, Twin City Ambulance, and volunteers for the Main-Transit Fire Company. Michele Sheehan
Adminstrative Assistant
Michele Sheehan has worked at U.E.M.S. for 17 years and joined the Office of Prehospital Care in January 2008. Michele is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Prehospital Care and the Department of Telemedicine Services at University Emergency Medical Services. Michele has assisted with the telemedicine program’s administrative functions since introduction in 1997. Cara Raczka, AS
Project Assistant
Cara has over 18 years of experience in health care administration and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from the Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. Cara is the Project Assistant for the Office of Prehospital Care and will coordinate the controlled substance program, organize and develop EMS-related programs for the EMS program agency and UEMS medical directors, coordinates the Camp 9-1-1 program. Cara joined UEMS and the Office of Prehospital Care in 2000 after her tenure at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital and, most recently, held the position of Office Manager for University Emergency Medical Service’s (UEMS) Occupational and Travel Health. In addition to EMS support activities, Cara ensures Physician and Mid-Level Practitioner credential compliance and coordinates the clinical staff schedule for the ECMC Emergency Department. Elizabeth Bordonaro, EMT
PCR Specialist
Elizabeth joined our team as PCR specialist in January of 2008 bringing many years of teaching and EMT field experience. Beth has been an EMT and Certified Lab Instructor since 1996. Beth has previously held the position of triage greeter with University Emergency Medical Services and was the PCR screener for our region’s former program agency. Beth volunteers for Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps, has been member of the Specialized Medical Assistant Response Team (SMART) since 2008, and works part-time for Rural Metro as an instructor and EMT. Amy Major
Administrative Assistant
Amy serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Wyoming-Erie Regional EMS Council (WEREMSCO) and Western Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (WREMAC). As the one of the newest members of our staff, Amy brings with her over 14 years of WEREMSCO and WREMAC administrative support experience. Amy is responsible for recording and maintaining correspondences for the WEREMSCO and WREMAC and serves as the historian for both organizations. Amy supports both organizations by coordinating the minutes, correspondences, and a variety of other administrative tasks. As the central point of contact for the WEREMSCO and WREMAC, Amy is always willing and able to assist EMS providers at any time. Amy can be reached via email at major1010@gmail.com.
